COMSATS facilitates transfer of successful technologies among Member States in order to strengthen the technological base of the industrial economy. As part of this programme, a technology-showcase by the name of COMSATS Expo was organized in Lahore, Pakistan, from October 1999 featuring Chinese Technologies. The event acted as a platform for Pakistani and Chinese entrepreneurs, facilitating their direct contact and providing them an opportunity to explore potential areas for joint business ventures (equity partnership, technology tie-ups, equipment purchases, buy-back arrangements, sub-contracting, market access, joint R & D and other commercial linkages).

Under an agreement with UN Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), we are all set to venture a little further into the technological development of the third world 's industrial sector, through programmes like establishment of information networks, quality & environment management programmes (ISO 9000, 14000), cleaner technology-transfer and industrial training.
