Need for Intertwining Information Technology in Development Processes Emphasized on the World Science-Day

The Executive Director, COMSATS, Dr. Hameed Ahmed Khan, H.I, S.I, participating in the World Science-Day convention organized by Pakistan Science Foundation, in Islamabad, on November 10, 2002, emphasized the need for intertwining information technology in everyday life.

On the occasion, speaking with particular reference to Science-Day, Dr. Khan deliberated upon the revolutionary powers of Information Technology in bringing about sustainable development and in improving the standards of life of common man. The Executive Director highlighted the role of Information Technology and its convolution in other spheres of life, like health, education, economy, industry, agriculture and environment, tourism and industry, and its due role in social and economic development.

COMSATS role in promoting Information technology in Pakistan was also underlined. Over all the convention emphasized the need to intertwine IT and other sciences in the development processes.
