First National Conference on Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), October 24-26, 2001, Islamabad - Pakistan

Scope of the Conference

National Centre for Non-Destructive Testing (NCNDT) is organizing a three-day National Conference on Non-Destructive Testing from 24th to 26th October, 2001. The objectives of the conference are to present research and development work, review the advancements and share mutual experience in the field of non-destructive testing. The first such national conference will provide a benchmark for the present state of development of NDT technology in the country.

Future conference are planned to be held at every four-year interval and in a year preceding the World Conference on Nondestructive Testing (WCNDT). The conference will thus serve as a national forum for participation in WCNDT and will become a permanent feature.

The oral and poster presentations, as well as exhibits relevant to the Conference will be useful for the development and applications of NDT in industries. This will not only provide information in the NDT field but also assist in addressing related problems. All interested individuals from industries, educational institutions and research organization are welcome.

Topics

  • Development of NDT, NDT Personal certification, NDT and quality assurance, codes and standards related to NDT
  • Current status of NDT in different national organizations and activities of private NDT companies
  • Nondestructive inspection during fabrication
  • Nondestructive in-service inspection for condition assessment
  • Interaction between conventional and advanced NDT techniques
  • Nondestructive metallographic testing, NDT and fracture mechanics
  • NDT of non-metallic materials

Call for Papers

Participants desirous of presenting paper(s) in this Conference are requested to submit abstracts of no more than 300 worlds by the specified date. Selection of papers will be based upon review of these abstracts. Papers submitted should preferably not have been published in the past. Accepted abstracts will be printed in the Abstract Booklet, which will be issued to all participants at the Conference

The deadlines are

Submission of Abstracts:10 September, 2001
Notification of Acceptance: 15 September, 2001
Submission of Manuscript: 30 September, 2001
